THE NEW HOMEBUYER FEDERAL TAX CREDIT IS NOW AVAILABLE TO IF YOUR AGREEMENT OF SALE IS DATED ON OR BEFORE APRIL 30, 2010 AND YOU CLOSE ON OR BEFORE JUNE 30, 2010. HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
The $8,000 Tax Credit
* First Time buyers with a single income up to $125,000 or a married income up to $225,000
*You must not have owned another home in the previous 3 years
*You must buy a home (or have a binding contract) by April 30, 2010
*You must be 18 or older and not claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer
*The property you purchase cannot be acquired from a relative
*You must own the home for at least three years
WOW! YOU CAN DO THIS!!
The $6,500 Tax Credit
*For those who have owned and lived in a home for at least five consecutive years of the last eight years.
*May have a single income up to $125,000 or a married income up to $225,000
*You must buy a new home between now and April 30, 2010
Those with higher incomes may qualify for partial tax credits. Military personnel have an extra year to take advantage of the credit.
